Christmas Countdown Project 9 - Candy Cane Mice

Last year we had candy cane reindeer or was it a moose??? This year I got this idea from Martha Stewart.com but I used my own template and face ideas.
You will need:
Calendar and mouse download (you only need the 3 mouse pieces - save the calendar piece for another project.)
Felt in various colours
Beads for eyes and nose
Candy Canes
Fabric glue
1. Download the template using the link above and pin it on to felt. Cut out.
2. Fold over the felt on one fold line and make two small cuts, then unfold and fold on the other fold line to make the other two small cuts. Take care to not cut these slits too long or the candy cane will slip through.
3. Thread the ears through the slits at the front of the head. Sew on the beads for the eyes and nose, using a needle and thread. (Don't use beads if this is for a small child, cut the features out in felt.)
Cut out the small pieces for the inner ear, in contrasting felt. Glue in place.
4. Thread the candy cane into the slots, making sure it goes over through the one from the ear pattern piece, leaving the handle of the cane as the curled tail.
You're done! A nice little project to do with children! You can make loads!
Join me tomorrow for another crafting project. TFLx
