Project Life Week 15

Still a bit behind but here are my two pages for week 15, documenting the week after Barney's stroke. Used some of my new Amy Tan papers for my 12 x 12 layout and then the KI memories paper for the right hand page of journaling. The Blinks of Life tags were from an SC kit.

Loved that "today is a gift" card, very appropriate. As you can see Barney is doing very well. Thanks for all the good wishes x

Week 14 Project life

Week 14 was all about our silver wedding trip to Venice, so I had to include an extra page protector for some extra photo's.

I decided to leave the last two sections empty and fill them with some of the celebration confetti out of one of our cards along with some punched hearts and wood veneer arrows.
The final page is a 12 x 12 of the heartbreak we faced when we got home, of our old dog having had a stroke.
This page was based on a Kelly Purkey sketch from the Sketchbook 2 class over at Studio Calico. I used some of the April digital stamps and printed them on vellum. TFLx

Project Life Week 13 and some enabling

Used some Studio Calico Project Life cards in this weeks pages for the first time, that I got in a grab bag. No 12 x 12 layout this week I preferred the smaller 6x4 page protectors. I used some of the April digital Stamp brushes too!
Thanks to some crafty friends for the tip off that TKMaxx had scrap goodies! Here are my Studio Calico, Amy Tan and Crate Paper goodies!

Project Life week 12

This week's spread was mostly about mum being in hospital and the difficult week we had, coping with everything. Some of the journaling is hidden. Nearly up to date! Another difficult week to journal now! TFLx
P.S. Barney having an off day today, I hope yesterday's post was not too previous! Lots of hugs and cuddles tonight. #lovemydog #bonustime

It's OK to talk about it now..

One of the reasons I have been absent from my blog is this chap
Unfortunately, on our last day away in Venice, my best buddy Barney, our 15 year old terrier cross had a Canine vestibular event (Stroke) and my son, who was at home, rushed him to the emergency vet in the middle of the night.
The vet tried her best to keep him going until our return later that day and I cried all the way home on the plane, knowing we had an appointment that evening to put him to sleep, however, as we got home and recognised us, he made an effort to stand up and was able to partly regain his balance. With daily steroid injections and a lot of TLC cuddles, he is still with us.

I feel very blessed that we have a chance to spend this extra bonus time with him. He is back on his feet, eating well and back to attempting a very short walk, so with fingers crossed we look forward to spending a bit of extra time with him. When a dog reaches this age, you know the end is inevitable, but it broke my heart that I might have not been there at the end. Today the vet has told us she is happy to not see him daily now and we can go back for our next check up neat Monday.
It does not seem two minutes since he was this big, and both the boys feel very privileged to have shared their childhood with such a loyal and trusted friend. Such a cutie!! When we got him from the rescue centre, he had been dumped in a carrier bag when only a few days old. From a very bad start, to 15 years of love and attention, despite his Addison's disease, he has enjoyed every minute and we have too. I can talk about it now, because he is still here, but I know time is precious. TFLx

Silver anniversary

Just got back from a short break in Venice to celebrate our silver wedding. Got some nice shots to scrap eventually when I have any time!
