I don't do many layouts at the moment and haven't done this year, so when I decided to to my December Daily a bit differently this year, I thought an album of layouts would be nice for a change rather than my pocket pages of the last two years. I also thought I would analyse what things had made me pin pages to my Inspiration board and I could incorporate that into my album.
This page is based on a page by justg from Studio Calico here. I liked it because I thought it would fit my monochrome theme with just a few pops of colour. You can see the index print of the original layout on the left and this is how I intend to do it.
My base was an 8.5x11 white cardstock that will go inside a page protector. I added 3 and a half black tags, each with a different washi tape on the 2 tag is from IKEA and the grey tag is from the Crate Paper mixed tags set. I added the '3' Merry and bright card by Pink Paislee as a mat for my black and white picture when I take it. The journaling will be on the black tags in a white pen. I think this page will be B is for Baking in my alphabet.
This page is based on a layout by Paige Evans here. I used some slide mounts I cut out with my Silhouette on gold card, patterned paper and silhouette chipboard and then layered together.
You can design your own or buy a pattern from the online store. I added some dotted lines for stitching too.
I arranged my frames in a similar way and added a veneer today frame and cut down the Pink Paislee merry and bright 4 card and my IKEA 4 tag. The white paper shows where I will place my 2x2 black and white pictures and journaling. I stitched it all down ready to go. This will be my D for decorations page I think. I like slide frames and think the gold card adds a little sparkle to the monochrome theme.
My third foundation page is one from Becky Novacek here. I think that I will add the large gold letters stitched over the top of the 6x4 picture.
I think this will be my E for everyone page as the 5th is hubby's birthday.
After I completed these base pages I decided not to add the numbers just make a selection of base pages for every letter of the alphabet page and a few spare. That way i can decided which layout suits which picture I can then assemble the album by date or by alphabet depending how I feel.
These last two pages are base pages that wont be in page protectors so they are larger. I intend to stitch two back to back with a reinforcement piece down the ring binder edge. For this reason I have tried to keep my embellishing away from either the left or right hand side edge., so I can punch the holes.
I'm really enjoying this preparation page work and putting bits together in page protectors to finish each layout. I think it will speed up the whole album process. Some days may end up with more than one page and that's fine! With having the new puppy arrive in two weeks time, I think Ill have my hands full so planning for some time saving is a great idea! TFLx
